FIS FREESKI & SNOWBOARD SLOPESTYLE AND BIG AIR NC & NJC

 

On behalf of the Latvian Ski Federation, we are pleased to invite all teams to participate in the LATVIAN OPEN 2026NC & NJC FIS Freeski and Snowboard Slopestyle and Big Air competitions.

The competition program is preliminary and may be changed depending on weather conditions, number of participants, or other unforeseen circumstances.

 

ORGANIZERS AND SUPPORTERS

The competition is organized by the Latvian Ski Federation with the support of:
Red Bull, Pipelife Baltic, Balcia.lv, Vauhti, GoPro Latvia, Therabody, Burusports, Icepower, Hi Wake

 

RULES

The competition will be held in accordance with FIS rules and regulations for freestyle skiing and snowboarding.

  • Disciplines: Slopestyle and Big Air
  • Categories: Men and Women
  • An official competition program will be available to all participants.

The organizers reserve the right to modify the schedule depending on snow conditions, weather, number of competitors, or decisions of the competition jury.

 

PARTICIPANTS

Athletes compete in freestyle skiing or freestyle snowboarding and are divided into the following groups:

  • Kids: 2013 and younger (boys and girls together)
  • Junior Men: born 2008–2012
  • Junior Women: born 2008–2012
  • Men: born 2012 or earlier
  • Women: born 2012 or earlier

 

COMPETITION PARK AND FORMAT

The competition will take place at Briežkalns Ski Resort, Ergļi, Latvia.

  • Slopestyle park: 2–3 jib sections and 2 jump sections
  • Big Air: second jump section
  • Kids competition: small park

The park setup may be modified due to weather or snow conditions.

Format

  • Qualifications (Men & Women): 2 runs, best run counts
  • Finals: 2 runs, best run counts
  • Judging scale: 0–100 points

Further details regarding judging criteria and format will be announced at the riders’ meeting.

 

ENTRY

Entries must be submitted by 31 January 2026, 20:00 via the following link:

 All competitors must hold a valid FIS code, except Kids category.

  • Kids registration will take place on site at the race office.

All participants must complete the LSF Athlete Declaration at registration. Athletes under 18 must have the declaration signed by a legal guardian.

ENTRY FEE AND LIFT TICKETS

Entry fee: 20 EUR per event
Payment deadline: 28.02.2026 (at registration) via bank transfer.

Lift Ticket Prices (competition participants only)

  • Training day: 15 EUR
  • Saturday: 25 EUR
  • Sunday: 20 EUR
  • 3-day pass: 50 EUR

 

AWARDS AND RESULTS

The top three athletes in each group and discipline will be awarded diplomas, medals, and sponsor prizes.

Cash prizes:

  • Men: 1st – 150 EUR | 2nd – 100 EUR | 3rd – 70 EUR
  • Women: 1st – 70 EUR | 2nd – 50 EUR | 3rd – 30 EUR

Food will be available for purchase at the competition venue on event days

 

BIBS AND HELMETS

All competitors must wear bibs and helmets during official training and competitions. Bibs must also be worn during the award ceremony.

LIABILITY

All athletes, officials, and team members participate at their own risk. The organizers, sponsors, suppliers, employees, and volunteers are not responsible for any injuries, losses, or damages incurred during the event.

Participants are responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings at all times.

 

ACCIDENT INSURANCE AND MEDICAL SERVICES

All competitors must have valid personal medical insurance. The organizers are not responsible for accidents or damaged equipment during training or competition.

In case of an accident, medical personnel and Ski Patrol appointed by the Organizing Committee will make all medical and evacuation decisions
