On behalf of the “Latvian Ski Federation”, we are pleased to invite all teams to attend the “Snowfest Riga” Rock a Rail, Europa Cup & World rookie tour snowboard & freeski rail event.

ORGANIZERS AND SUPORTERS 

The competition is organized by the "Latvian Ski Federation" in partnership with “Rock A Rail” and “Ghetto games”. 

Competition is supported by; “Red Bull”, “Blue Tomato”, “Nidicker”, “Zillertal”, “Protest”, “Pipelife Baltic”,” Balcia.lv”, “Ericasynths”, “Latvian Ministry of Education and Science”, “Vauhti”, “Gopro”, “Therabody”, “Boards.lv”, “Ice Power”, “LIVE Riga”, “ABC”, “Storent”, “Husqarna”, 

RULES

·       The competition will be held under FIS rules and regulation for freestyle skiing and snowboarding. 

·       These competitions are Rail event for both men and women 

·       These competitions follow an official program that will be available to all participants 

·       The organizers reserve the right to change the schedule depending on snow conditions, weather, number of competitors or the decision of the competition jury 

PARTICIPANTS 

Participants compete in two sports (freestyle skiing and freestyle snowboarding) and are divided into the following groups: 

Rock a rail & Europa cup 

·      Men (Born 2012 or older)

·      Women (Born 2012 or older)

COMPETITION FORMAT & JUDGING

Rock a Rail & Europa cup

In the qualification, the participants will have 30 min jam session. Maximum 30 men in each sport and 20 women in each sport will be divided in to heats, maximum of 15 participants per heat. The best 12 FS & SNB man and best 6 FS & SNB women will go to the semi-finals. 

In the semi-finals, participants will have 20 min jam sessions. 3 women and 3 men in each sport will be qualified from Innsbruck stop. 1 women and 1 men in each sport will be qualified from RaR 2024 with golden ticket. 2 men and 2 women Red Bull athletes will be qualified in each sport. 2 men and 2 women Bluetomato athletes will be qualified to semi finalsTotal: 12 women and 18 men in each sport will be qualified to semi finals. The best 8 women and best 8 men will qualifie for finals

In the finals riders will have Head-to-Head Bracket Format witch concists of 2 runs. Riders with the higher score wins the round. If a rider wins both runs, they move on. If each rider wins one run: The highest trick score across both runs decides the winner. If still tied, combined run scores determine who advances. Winners of the Semi-Finals go to the Big Final, deciding who becomes 1st and who 2nd. Losers of the Semi-Finals go to the Small Final, battling for 3rd and 4th position. 

Judging in the qualification and semifinals: Final Score = best 4 trick scores (max 40 p.) + course use/variety score (max 10 p.) Maximum Possible Score: 50 Points

COMPETITION PARK 

The competition will take place at “Ghetto Games coliseum” which is located at “Griziņkalns” park. Competition Park will consist of 12m teardrop tube, 9m street down-rail, 4 m street flat rail to drop. 6 m par down-rail, 6 m donkey rail and 8 m park kink rail and 5 x 6 m wall ride. The competition park can be changed due to weather and snow condition on competition day.

ENTRY

Entry must be submitted to each competitor’s national federation (FIS online entry system) before November 24th 2024. 8:00 p.m. All competitors, must have valid FIS code. Except for World rookie tour competitors.

At registration all participants must fill LSF athletes’ declaration. Athletes who are younger than 18 years old must have legal guardian who can sing their declaration. Declaration can be printed and filled before https://www.infoski.lv/files/lsf_deklaracija_2024_661dd.doc

No minimum FIS points are required to enter however, it’s recommend that only athletes capable of riding advanced street-style setups enter.

Participation fee is 50 €, fee must be paid until registration 24.11.2025 via bank transfer.

AWARDING AND RESULT

Rock a Rail & Europa cup

Tom 3 podium winners will be awarded with cash prizes, sponsor goodies and medals. Best trick winners will be awarded with “Gopro” and “Therabody” massage pants.

Cash prizes: Men & women 1. 500 €‎ 2. 300 €‎ 3. 200 €‎

Best trick prizes: Men & women Gopro products 1000 € Therabody products 1000 €

BIBS AND HELMETS 

It is necessary for all competitors to wear bibs and helmets through official training, competitions and award ceremony (bib only). 

LIABILITY 

All Athletes, officials and other members of their National Association who attend and participate in the event shall do so at their own risk. The Organizers, sponsors and suppliers, employees and volunteers shall not be held responsible to any losses or injuries incurred or suffered by any athlete, official or other person in conjunction with the organisation or staging of the event.
All participant are urged no to be negligent in safeguarding their personal belongings at all time. 

ACIDENTS INSURANCE AND PROTOCOLS 

Every competitor must be medically insured on her/his own. The Organizers declines any responsibility for accidents, damaged equipment during the training and competitions.
In case of accidents on courses during the event, medical personnel from the Organizing Committee and Ski Patrol will be responsible for any medical decision or evacuation to local hospital.
